Thanks for visiting Drawing Room Projects
The Drawing rooms, or salons, of years gone by were a place of philosophy , discussion, intellect and dialogue. This is where I have drawn my inspiration for my blog and business name. So what does a 16th century room for taking tea have to do with a video production and project management business. Well who really knows? All I can suggest is that my business philosophy is about open discussion and detachment from ego in the interests of all stakeholders. The area of greatest interest to Drawing Room Projects is the democratisation of our media. Demos, meaning all. So why, after all we’ve been through together, don’t we have equal representation in our media? DRP is a forum for dialogue, collaboration, creation and philosophy. From tech talk about cameras and equipment, to the finer details of creative environments. I don’t profess to be an expert on matters of creativity, but I can be the cordial host of the Drawing Room. I will draw from my experience and post on a range of topics….. and let us share. Video as an arts intervention tool, production management, cinema of location, community development, asset based production. I will also share about my experiences of blogging. I believe blogging to be the biggest step towards a democratic media since the digital revolution and the Internet. I enjoy sending my ideas out in to the ether and wonder at the great Drawing Room that is humanity. I do hope you enjoy some of my posts and perhaps we will meet some day.
